Mother's Are Superstars, and Deserve to Shine with Magical Jewels All Year Long.
You see those images nowadays where a woman gets a million things piled on her back, suitcases, etc etc etc. . And her kids are also in tow as she pulls this heavy load. And yet, she has to keep going with no-one there to help her carry it. As a mom of three girls, this image resonates so deeply with me. From a pregnancy of literally carrying the weight of your baby, to the mental load mothers must carry.
MOMS! We are expected to do it all, keep going no matter what, and smile the whole time!
As I get older, my definition and expectations surrounding this word change, and I realize the importance of continuing to see the woman behind the mom.
My own mother taught me to be an individual, and to spread beauty. As you can see, I have definitely listened. She made fairy art, and had a more elevated/original style than almost anybody walking the streets of Manhattan. I called her a Couture mom, and to this day, she is difficult to buy gifts for, because her taste is impeccable.
Luckily I have a box of treasures at my disposal most of the time. As a mom of three myself, some days I want to tear my hair out. But then I remember, I have decided to NEVER STOP DREAMING. And I do JUST THAT.
