The Heart of The Matter

The Heart of the Matter: Falling for Hearts

  • "The secret, Alice, is to surround yourself with people who make your heart smile. It's then, only then, that you'll find Wonderland": A quote from Lewis Carroll.

As much as I love the idea of Wonderland, for the longest time, I wasn’t a heart person.

Or at least, that’s what I told myself. I thought of hearts as too sweet, immature for a grownup,  too obvious, cliche, and too expected. But somewhere along the way, I realized I was in a little bit of denial.

Because the truth is, hearts are powerful symbols. They are comforting. They are lovely. They are undeniably feminine. The symbolize love, one of the things that makes this world go round. And no matter the season, they are inviting—a shape so deeply ingrained in our emotions that it transcends trends, occasions, and even personal style.

Hearts, at their essence, are connection. They remind us of love, yes, but not just the romantic kind. They symbolize self-love, family love, and the love we have for the people, places, and memories that make us who we are. They’re universal, yet deeply personal. A heart-shaped jewel can be a talisman, a keepsake, a celebration of feeling deeply and living fully.

So here I am, embracing hearts in all their glory. Of course, I am putting Unhada's unusual spin on them. Done in rich rubies, glowing moonstones, and, unexpected hues that add a little magic to a familiar shape. So, they are not just meant for Valentine’s Day, but all year round,  because, really, what could be more magical than wearing a symbol of love?

If you’ve ever thought hearts weren’t for you, I get it. But maybe, just maybe, you’re a heart person too—and just like me, you just haven’t realized it yet.

Happy Galentine's to all you lovely ladies out there. And Happy Valentine's to everyone else.
