The Storyteller...

Storytelling has always been a passion of mine. The tales we share can lift us up or pull us into shadows, and I love telling visual stories that infuse magic into people’s lives.

When my eldest daughter turned three, I wanted to whisk everyone away to a fairy-tale world for her birthday. I found a charming, affordable venue and transformed it with pastel tablecloths, glittering marshmallow wands, delicate tea sandwiches, and even a real-life Cinderella. My goal was to make it feel like everyone was attending a little princess tea at Cinderella’s castle. The guests were instantly transported, and by the end of the day, many asked for assurance of an invite to my next event.

Everything I create tells a story—whether it’s the garden in my backyard, a birthday party, or my latest jewelry collection. I love blending the real and dream worlds together, creating a feeling unlike anything else. Unhada is no exception—it’s the pinnacle of my storytelling.

When I look back at all my collections, I’m reminded of secret fairies in enchanted forests, powerful women in surreal, Asian-inspired realms, and sea-inspired celestial themes that transport you to the dark, mysterious night. I’m constantly crafting new stories, merging reality with fantasy to create wearable magic.

My latest two collections are inspired by very different realms, yet they share common themes: rising above darkness, overcoming life’s challenges, and embracing the present moment while cherishing the beauty around us.

The Tea Party Collection is designed to feel like a never-ending soirée, filled with magical details, soft pastel palettes, and ethereal bows. I wanted it to evoke lightness and joy, as if people were sitting around a table set with the most exquisite fine china, sharing life and creating forever memories.

The Capture Collection, featuring Unhada’s Rails Series, draws inspiration from Ancient Chinese philosophies, particularly the ‘Five Elements Theory,’ which teaches that everything in the universe is composed of five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. When these elements are balanced, harmony is achieved, allowing us to heal and truly capture the present moment.

The Rails Series specifically speaks to the journey we must take. If we stand still, how can we ever move forward? I think my drive to tell stories comes from the endless narratives waiting to be discovered—beauty hidden around every corner. In our busy lives, we often forget to pause and capture the stories the universe whispers to us.

Living in Bangkok taught me to pause and take in the magic around me. Their culture cherishes the present, with a calmness that says “Mai Pen Rai” (no big deal). There was magic in every corner, whether it was the scent of street food, spotting a Komodo dragon wandering by, the chants of monks, discovering a glittering hidden wat, or huddling under an awning to escape a monsoon. It all taught me to keep looking.

I hope my jewelry serves as a reminder to seek out the magic around us—and, most importantly, to capture the magic within.

Xx,
Jocelyn
